The Malayan Tigers will play a series of friendly matches against Jordan and Uzbekistan at the FIFA International Football Championship in Amman, Jordan's capital, in October.
Previously, the FM team failed to reschedule their first game in September for a friendly match, after which the side did not receive any confirmation. Thus, FM gave the MFL the right to judge league rivals as well as Malaysian Cup rivals.
Not only that, it also gives the Malaysian Tigers a chance to pick a top team based on their league performance this season.
National team head coach Tan Cheng Ho announced that they would be looking for new faces for the roster after several players showed significant improvement.
Joining Jordan, currently ranked 93rd in the world, was seen as the right move to test his ability as one of the World Cup qualifiers.
Uzbekistan will also be the best testing ground as it ranks 83rd, slightly below the previous ranking.
While the opportunity to see the true potential of the Malaysian Tigers, facing a top 100 competitor in the world is considered the only right decision.
Along with Logman Hakim, Anil and many others who have spread their wings abroad, new tonics such as Dion Cools touring Europe can also be seen as having the potential to strengthen the country's ranks.
