I still want this tomorrow - Linus Long

After 13 years at Sabah FC since 2010, experienced player Alto Linus honestly sees Datuk Ong Kim Sui's team as the best and can do anything in the 2022 season.

It is clear that Alto will have a very different aura in the morning team this time, if the presence of both experienced and talented players no longer makes them a team to complement their rivals.

This situation became the basis for the belief that Gus could share the only memories he could create in a morning if he was awake for a day.

“Since I was with the troops in the past, I always wanted to bring Sabah back to the brutal state it was in in the mid-90s to the early 2000s.

“The 2022 season might be the best time to see a morning like this and there have been many positive changes both on and off the field since Datuk Ong Kim Sui took over as head coach.

“He changed the mentality and personality of the morning players to be more positive and believe in each other's strengths, a vision that I admit impressed us, apart from discipline.

“I am indeed excited to have experienced players like Badrul Bakhtiar and Khair Fahmi Che Mat who I believe will give Sabah a chance to challenge anyone.

"Apart from the Premier League that I won with Sabah in 2019, I hope to achieve something special before I retire," he said, aged 36 this year.

Since joining Sabah, Alto has never joined any other team in his career except for the T team in 2014 where he stayed for six months before returning home mid-season.

Despite receiving offers every season, Alto admits he doesn't want to go anywhere and wants his career in Sabah.

“My experience from Sabah was only once with the T team, but I decided to go back to Sabah after finding the minutes of play difficult.

Sabah's management, including manager Melomir Cecilia, wanted me to come home and it was clear that this decision was the right place to get me where I am today.

“If I can afford it, I don't want to go to other troops, although I often receive offers from troops because my heart and soul is already there in Sabah.

"I will continue to stay here to continue to instill filial piety in Sabah as my country was born and raised," he said.
